Fox Calling 2019

Nayoung Kang continues her investigation into the nocturnal world of foxes - animals that are often ignored or reviled despite their arresting physical presence, penetrating call and the acrid scent they use to mark so many of the city’s alleyways and passages. Kang’s work takes the form of an installation and sound piece, in which the artist can be heard making noises of encouragement to the animals that inhabit London’s streets at night. Her subtle whispers and jarring substitution of the view from the window elusively hint at our everyday proximity to the feral. -text by Dateagle Art
